The regulation (EC) No.1935/2004 of the European Parliament is regulating on how materials and objects, which are directly or indirectly come into contact with foodstuffs, must be established.

In the food industry, during the manufacturing process, food can be provided with a variety of materials and substances, e.g. beverage packings, filling tubes or the non-stick coating of a filling container.
