Two jets. One target. Zero compromises. That’s what the Lechler XDT (Xtreme Drift Reduction Twin) twin flat spray nozzle stands for. Designed for crop protection in field cropping, the XDT nozzle redefines the standard for low-drift crop protection applications. By combining twin flat spray technology, an extremely low proportion of fine droplets, and an exceptionally wide pressure range, it enables safe and high-performance applications – even under challenging weather conditions.

The XDT nozzle has succeeded in significantly reducing the already very low proportion of fine droplets found in previous pre-emergence nozzles. Across the entire pressure range of 1.5 to 8 bar, the V100 value remains nearly constant at an exceptionally low level. This significantly minimizes the risk of drift onto non-target areas. Tests show a reduction in the proportion of fine droplets of up to 77% compared to previous solutions.

Using Prosulfocarb safely and sustainably with strict application guidelines

Herbicide strategies for cereal crops will increasingly rely on alternative pre-emergence herbicides – one key active ingredient being prosulfocarb. This active ingredient has high efficacy against ryegrass, windgrass, and blackgrass and will therefore play an important role in the future. At the same time, prosulfocarb requires particularly careful application. Due to the high active ingredient concentrations, improper application can result in residues in non-target crops such as fruit, herbs, or vegetables, causing economic damage.

The most important measure in crop protection: The active ingredient must reach the target area safely. Therefore, clear risk mitigation measures apply to prosulfocarb: 

• minimum application rate of 300 l/ha
• minimum 90% drift reduction
• maximum driving speed of 7.5 km/h
• wind speed below 3 m/s

Selecting the right spray nozzle and ensuring that the sprayer is properly adjusted are crucial for meeting requirements and ensuring sustainable use.
