Flue-Gas Desulfurization

Lechler High Efficiency FGD Spray Nozzles and Spray Nozzle System

Flue-Gas Desulfurization

Flue gas desulphurization efficiency in coal fired power plants, waste incineration plants or other industrial plants also depends on the spray nozzles that guarantee precise operation over a long period of time and withstand extremely aggressive environmental conditions.

With its precise spray nozzle design, Lechler India offers professional and application-oriented solutions for the scrubbers or absorbers in regards to the spray nozzles and nozzle system requirements for flue gas desulphurization (FGD). All the Spray Nozzles and Spray Nozzle systems are manufactured in India. Until now Lechler India has manufactured and delivered 20,000  Spray Nozzles for FGD applications pan India.

Different technologies are commercially available for reduction of SO2 emission in dry flue gas. Following technologies are widely used in power plants to control the SO2 emission:

Wet FGD Systems

  • Limestone
  • Seawater
  • Others (ammonia and sodium)

Dry & Semi-dry FGD Systems

LECHLER SPRAY NOZZLES RANGE FOR FLUE GAS DESULFURIZATION

Lechler full cone, hollow cone and flat jet spray nozzles meet the requirements that modern technology in exhaust gas cleaning demands on nozzles: high-alloy and chemically resistant materials as well as liquid distribution and circular distribution tailored to the application and the appropriate droplet spectrum. The constructional designs are classified according to spray pattern, feed pressure & connection type.

Spray pattern

The most frequently used nozzles in Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) are hollow-cone and full-cone spray nozzles. Hollow-cone spray nozzles produce a circular load; full-cone nozzles, on the other hand, distribute liquid over a circular area. Helix nozzles occupy a special position.

Nozzle Design

Hollow-cone and full-cone spray nozzles with tangential inlet flow do not have any internals. The hydrodynamic design results in a self-cleaning effect and thus trouble-free operation of the nozzles. However, axial full-cone spray nozzles of the various series also have the largest possible passage cross-sections due to a specific swirling design.

Connection type

An important factor in nozzle assembly is the time required for installation and removal, i.e. the downtime of the system. Lechler therefore offers different mounting variants tailored to customers’ requirements, which help to save time and money. Lechler offers various fastening solutions according to the supply lines of customers system.
